Can the senses teach artificial intelligence to suggest meals we would trust, and waste less doing it?

Households produce more than half of the food wasted in the European Union. Generative AI can already suggest what to cook with what is left in the fridge, but many people do not trust a machine on matters of taste.
What we hear, see and feel changes what we taste: the louder the crunch, the fresher a crisp seems. GASTRO-X builds cues like these into AI recipe suggestions, in the words, the image of the dish and the sound of it cooking, and tests whether people then trust them more and throw away less.
