Giovanbattista Califano

Giovanbattista works on food choice at the boundary between experimental psychology and behavioural economics. His recent research looks at how people respond to food content made by generative AI, from recipes to images. He holds a PhD in Food Science from the University of Naples Federico II, where he also studied psychology and agricultural economics, and spent six months as a visiting researcher at the Crossmodal Research Laboratory back in 2023.

Charles is a world-famous experimental psychologist with a specialization in neuroscience-inspired multisensory design. He has worked with many of the world’s largest companies since establishing the Crossmodal Research Laboratory in 1997. Charles has published more than 1,200 academic articles and 17 books.
